Like Air

Like Air

By Frank Bolaji Irawo

Didn't think there was enough of it

Tried so hard to hold onto it

So hot with greed and desperation

It melted like ice away from me

Then I realised there was more than I thought

I let it flow under my watchful eye

Built a safety dam to hoard enough to soothe me

It all got stagnant and caused a stink

Then it became clear

Money was just like air to me

Breathed in and out at will

To be there when I needed it

With gratitude, I take it in

Happy reward from serving

With gratitude, I let it out

Happy servant for transforming
