The Greatest Illusion

The Greatest Illusion

By Frank Bolaji Irawo

There goes an illusion

As rare as unicorns flying

For to those with fair eyes

Who seek it of life

That it should be perfect still

For woe betide the pleasure of now

If it shows not up in the way it was willed

I stumbled upon one greater still

The creature they call perfect

Rarer than hen's teeth

It they sought and still they seek

But none can agree on what it is

So the sands of time fade

For those who sit and wait

Resisting the pleasure of the present
