Way Over Ordinary

Out way over there

On beyond realms of reason

Be wary, beware

Don't get caught

Avoid the swamp

I'm so concerned

I'll say it twice

Mind all that

Woo woo cr*p

Whimsy as it is woolly

Beyond the grasp

Of what can be measured

That which Newtonian science

Turns its nose up at

Out Into the realms

Of "spirituality"

That's what it seems

God help us

Religion has no part in this

Hate to get caught in that loop

Entrapped in an illusory world

Of my own making

Only interested in numbers

I can crunch

These ideas and notions

So beyond what I can touch

Do nothing but make me nervous

What good will any of it

Do me

Living in the realms of reality

Woo woo has no real appeal

We look, we see

But do we really?

Science of the

Quantum kind reveals

We see as we expect

The illusion of solidity

Formed from waves

Nothing is quite as it seems

The more we look the less we see

The more we seek, the less we find

The more we think we know

The more there is to discover

There are more questions than

There are answers

The things that matter most

Are harder to pin down

The essence of who we are

Can't be captured in a jar

We get the brain

But where is the mind?

Everything held

In intelligent design

Beware the one

What has it all

Figured out

Better be open

To not knowing

Take delight in mystery

It’s where adventures lie

Maybe one day

We'll figure it out

Woo woo may not be

So abstract after all

Most of it persisting

For millions of years

Ancients used different words

An array of metaphors

To point to infinite source

But then maybe we won't

Figure it out

So we are left with just

The joy of the ride
